Antique original 1905 Bronze Sullivanesque Mail Slot From Rockefeller Building In Cleveland
The building was constructed in 1905 for Standard Oil. John D Rockefeller. The architects, Knox and Elliot, met while working for Burnham and Root in Chicago at the same time as Louis Sullivan. The influence is clear in the hardware and the terracotta exterior of the building.
A few knobs, plates, sash pulls, and other pieces have come on the market but the mail slots are very rare.
