antique solid BRASS Door Knob BACKPLATE ** Victorian Eastlake - 2 Keyholes! **

Description

Here is a neat old original solid brass door knob backplate, with a very ornate design of flowers and geometric patterns.  I do not know the actual age, but likely 1890's to 1910's or so?  There is no makers mark that I can see, but there appears to be a faint stamping on the back that looks like '455'.  A neat feature of the item is that it has two (2) keyhole openings...  not sure why that was done.
Not a cheap stamped backplate, but is a rather thick and hefty solid item.  An old salvage item, probably can use some additional cleaning and polishing but should be very functional.
Rectangular brass, measures 6 3/4" x 2 1/8" or so.  Vintage used, some darkening and stains from age and needs some additional cleaning; some roughness / damage on the doorknob opening ridge but nothing that interferes with functionality.  This will make a nice addition to your collection or restoration project, or just for display.
