    DESCRIPTION:
    Nice, very rare large antique photo of young African American girl.
    Scans show it all. Such early photos are very scarce, as it was often a very special occurance for them to have their photos taken in a studio. Obviously the number taken was small. This is no newer than 1890.
    This came with a collection of several other early, antique photos of African American subjects. Probably from the same antique album. Some are cabinet photos, identified with photographer names, and all from various towns in Mississippi, including GREENWOOD, MISSISSIPPI photographers. Very few mounted photos were in the collection, given their early period.
    This is
    a great gift for the photo collectors in your family. Good condition overall to both photo and mount. A great looking photo and would have been a very important item to this girl.
    Good early, identified photos of Black African Americans are very hard to find!
